WHAT IS KOTONG WATCH? WHAT CAN IT DO FOR YOU?

KotongWatch (KW) is the first crowdsourcing initiative to map hotspots of 'kotong' (extortion by traffic enforcers) in Metro Manila and the Philippines. Read on to find out what KW can do for you-- and what you can do for KW!

Victim of 'kotong'? Report the exact location, date and time, and perpetrator info (if available). Reporting your personal and contact info is OPTIONAL, but encouraged. We promise to keep ALL personal info CONFIDENTIAL (only visible to the small and trustworthy KW admin team). KW is in the process of forming partnerships with the right people in government who CAN and WILL act on submitted reports.

Know of 'kotong' stakeouts and "rackets"? Report the location and modus operandi so others will be warned. Post a photo or video for evidence! Again, KW is pursuing partnerships with the right people who can act on this valuable information.

Motorist in the Philippines? Check your route for 'kotong' hotspots and prepare accordingly. Sign up to get e-mail alerts for your area. Help us verify submitted reports by voting on their credibility and posting comments!

Savvy driver? Be part of KW Brigade. Sign up for an account (click the Log-in button on the upper-right corner of the page) and help us verify 'kotong' reports with your votes and comments. All you need is a working e-mail address; real names are optional, and all personal info will be kept strictly confidential.

From the government or police force? We are eager to work WITH you. Please send a message through the CONTACT US form or by sending an email to kotongwatch@gmail.com. We will get back to you ASAP.
